Brush up your Italian. It really means LIGHT (chiaro) and DARK (oscuro). It describes some of the
best techniques ever used in art, through the ages.
We are going to see the effects of chiaroscuro in cartooning, classical cartooning where many
artists got their starts and where a genre was created that lasted decades and provided
entertainment for young and old before television took over. And it still does today. We'll see
some real storyboards from the times and enjoy the artistry that told a story, one frame at a
time. Come and enjoy a trip back in time and enjoy the drama that chiaroscuro offers.
