Meet at 9:00 am at the PAC to carpool to Weatherford to Chandor Gardens. 10:00 am: Guided docent tour of gardens and mansion elegantly and artistically decorated for Christmas throughout the home to help celebrate the festive season. 11:30 am: Lunch in the Dining Room of the mansion. If we need a business meeting, we could do a brief meeting some time around 11 to 11:15. The admission with docent tour is $10. Lunch is $15 (that includes tip). |

Pecan Plantation Art Guild’s 2022 Martie’s Party Gallery Night
In Loving memory of Martie Rains, the brains behind Gallery Night
Friday, September 30th, 2022, 4pm to 8pm
Martie was a marketing manager, a singer, an artist, a teacher, a debate coach, a farmer, an active member in the Catholic Church, a world traveler, a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. After 22 years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, she became an English teacher at Godley High School. Martie and her husband Gary then settled in Pecan Planation in Granbury. There, Martie found a new talent for painting after becoming inspired by a vacation to Italy. Martie and Gary traveled all over the world looking for inspiration for her paintings. Martie was a founding member of PPAG and started the annual “Gallery Night” featuring local artists’ pieces displayed in homes throughout Pecan Planation.
Regarding her painting, “Pecan Sunrise” Martie described it this way on her blog; “I’m fortunate enough to live in Pecan Plantation, a community on the Brazos River just outside Granbury, TX. While I love to paint beautiful scenes from my travels, there’s nothing prettier than my own back yard. “Pecan Sunrise” is an example of what I see every morning outside my window. The tall pecan tree and landscape glow reddish-orange as the sun peeps over the distant hill.”
We are eager to bring this annual favorite Pecan Plantation Art Guild event once again to our Pecan and Granbury friends and neighbors. Martie’s Party Gallery Night will feature four home galleries in Pecan Plantation filled with your favorite Pecan artists’ work from these last few years when we haven’t been able to share our art. Come and meet the artists and see live demos. No admission charge for an evening of art, hors d’oeuvres, beverages and camaraderie. A $5 donation per person is suggested. Pick up maps and beverage tickets at the Clubhouse 3:45 to 7:00. Carpooling is recommended.
Enjoy a special collection of Martie Rains’ paintings which will be on display at the Clubhouse for the month of September.
